The work will increase the size of the building located along Route 112 from 13,200 square feet to just over 18,700 square feet, an increase of approximately 42% in floor space. \u201cFour more modern machines will be added to make the employees\u2019 work easier. The mattresses are heavy, and with this equipment, they will be able to roll them on mats instead of carrying them,\u201d explained owner Ghislain Fortier, confirming that the new machinery will also promote greater productivity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The latter was using a warehouse located a little further away in East Broughton because the factory lacked space for equipment. The expansion will give him the opportunity to bring everything back nearby. It will also allow him to welcome customers in modern premises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition to selling to individuals, the company does business with furniture and mattress retailers. This work is aimed at meeting growing demand and expanding its market share as a wholesaler. \u201cI sell a lot of adjustable beds and I would like to offer them with mattresses, but until now, that wasn't possible. The new machinery will bring us that opportunity.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The booming real estate market and the renovation trend have been good for business during the pandemic. The owner has seen an increase in sales, and this has continued in recent months. \u201cI think things should calm down in the fall since home sales seem to be slowing down,\u201d said Ghislain Fortier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The company currently employs five people, three of whom are full-time. The expansion will require hiring new resources in the coming months. Like most employers, recruiting workers is not easy due to the labor shortage. Ghislain Fortier hopes to add at least two new employees soon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
